1、(Chair) professor

A. The applicant should have the capability of achieving independent development and guiding academic direction. The applicant should be a world-class scientist with profound academic attainments, be recognized by international colleagues, and can play an irreplaceable guiding or leading role.

B. An applicant who holds the professional title of associate professor or professor at a world-class university or has scored achievements at the equivalent academic level is preferred.  

C. There is no record of undesirable incident or practicing fraud in the experiences of the applicant.

D. The applicant should be healthy and competent for the works at his or her post.

2、Associate professor

A. The applicant should have solid education background and excellent work experiences. He or she should engage in forward-looking or innovative researches, and has obtained research findings that have landmark significance as well as important academic influences and are recognized by domestic colleagues. 

B. An applicant who holds the professional title of assistant professor or associate professor at a world-class university or has scored achievements at the equivalent academic level is preferred.  

C. There is no record of undesirable incident or practicing fraud in the experiences of the applicant.

D. The applicant should be healthy and competent for the works at his or her post.

3、Assistant professor

A. The applicant should have solid education background and experiences of conducting research at high-level domestic or international university / research institute, and have promising potentials in academic development.

B. An applicant who has the experiences of conducting postdoctoral research at a first-class university at home or abroad, and holds the professional title of assistant professor or has scored achievements at the equivalent academic level is preferred.  

C. The applicant should be competent for lecturing in relevant courses. 

D. There is no record of undesirable incident or practicing fraud in the experiences of the applicant.

E. The applicant should be healthy and competent for the works at his or her post.

F. An applicant who has medical background is preferred.

Remunerations:

Global Recruitment of Teaching Staff Members Specialized in Clinical Medicine for the School of Medicine of SUSTech

Based in Shenzhen, the School of Medicine of the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) is oriented toward meeting the needs of both China and other parts of the world. It is positioned as an internationalized high-level research medical school featuring the integration of medicine with sciences, engineering, and the humanities. Its mission is to foster leading medical talents with international vision and expertise. The planned enrolment is 2,000 students.

The 5th floor of Building B and the nearby specially designated sites on the campus of SUSTech are temporarily used as the venue for teaching and research prior to the completion of the construction and the formal use of the Teaching and Research Building of the School of Medicine. The main building of the School of Medicine Building will be located on the campus of the SUSTech. The proposed construction site is located on the east of the campus, in the valley north of the Dasha River.

In accordance with the overall positioning and development goals of the School of Medicine of SUSTech, the construction project will be in line with the needs of modern universities for teaching, research and social services, facilitate the development of academic disciplines and scholarly research, and meet the needs of students according to their numbers. Under the precondition that the campus of the School of Medicine has complete and sustainable functions, the construction project will organically integrate the characteristics of medical science with international vision and the Chinese style, and reflect far-sighted, internationalized and digitalized approach as required by the designing plan.

 

As its initial step to develop academic disciplines, the School of Medicine provides the undergraduate program in "biomedical science", and regularly admits students specialized in biomedical science and arranges teaching for them. 

In March 2019, the School of Medicine was formally approved to provide undergraduate program in clinical medicine. It admitted the students specialized in clinical medicine for the first time and began to organize teaching for them in the autumn of 2019.

On June 10, 2019, SUSTech and King's College London signed a joint preparation agreement, by which a joint medical school will be established in the SUSTech, and the two sides will carry out in-depth educational cooperation in a number of medical disciplines. Through recruiting top talents and focusing on integrating academic disciplines with innovations, the School of Medicine will encourage the mutual promotion among education, research and talents to train first-class medical professionals and vigorously promote the development of Shenzhen in education, health care and life science. With world-class research outcomes and medical services, the School of Medicine will contribute to the international competitiveness of the Guangdong-Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.

An applicant should

1. Have passion for medical teaching and rich teaching experience;

2. Have academic influence, with high-level paper(s) on teaching or medical textbook(s) published; chief editor and/or deputy chief editor of medical textbook(s) is preferred;

The newly established Department of Medical Neuroscience at the School of Medicine, Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in China seeks applicants for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the rank from assistant professor to full professor. Candidates pursuing research in all areas of neuroscience with medical relevance are welcome to apply. Applicants should have a doctoral degree and relevant postdoctoral experience.
