Liu Yang


Dr. Liu joined Sustech as a research assistant professor from March 2019.  Dr. Liu gained PhD of systems biology from Technical University of Denmark in 2012. From 2013 until 2015, she worked in Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering(SCELSE) in Nanyang Technical University as a postdoc research fellow. From 2016 until 2019 Feb, she works as a research fellow in the bioinformatics core in Cancer Science Institute (CSI) of National University of Singapore. Her research has been focused on bacterial biofilms and antibiotic resistance, microbiome and infection diseases, cancer bioinformatics.  She has published over 20 papers in SCI journals such as Antimicrobial agents and Chemotherapy, Journal of Clinical Microbiology, Genome Biology and Evolution, Nature Communications, Microbiome. Her research in Sustech will be focused on the relationship between microbiome and disease, health, aging, including drug metabolism. She will also collaborate with affiliated hospitals on precision medicine studies.
