On the occasion of the founding of Current Medicine (CM), I send my heartfelt wishes. I wish CM the best of luck in developing into an academic journal with high international influence.

Medical science is developing at unprecedented speed and new achievements emerge at an astonishing pace. Different medical disciplines penetrate with each other as well as with other disciplines, and new disciplines grow up at their intersections. This development in the field of medical science is accompanied by an exponential growth in the number of published medical studies, as well as openly accessible data, bringing every medical worker into the information age. In the face of new concepts and new technologies, those investigators who are good at taking the essence, getting inspiration from it, and carrying insights forward to innovation will always stand at the forefront of their disciplines.

CM, with its focus on scientific advances leading up to new therapies or diagnostic tools, and with its commitment to publishing multi-discipline studies from multi-center groups, aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth communication platform for medical workers.

A new medical academic journal will face many difficulties in its initial stage. However, I believe that with the joint efforts of the organizer, the publisher, the editorial team led by the Editor-in-Chiefs (Prof. Songlin Wang and Prof. Alfred Yung), and authors and readers, CM will with time develop into a distinctive, high-quality and high-level academic journal.

As a member of CM’s Scientific Advisory Board, I am happy to cooperate with excellent experts from the editorial team to help CM grow into an internationally influential journal with great attraction to clinicians and researchers.
