南方科技大学讲席教授、医学院副院长,乌克兰工程院外籍院士,国际华人骨研学会现任主席,广东省细胞微环境与疾病研究重点实验室主任, 美国骨矿研究学会(ASBMR)会士, 连续荣登爱思唯尔中国高被引学者 (生物学)和全球前2%顶尖科学家榜单。研究骨骼发育和骨骼疾病 (骨质疏松、骨关节炎等)的相关分子基础。北京大学医学部博士;美国密歇根大学博士后;美国匹茨堡大学医学院助理教授、副教授;美国拉什大学教授、冠名讲席教授、生物化学系的研究主任;历任南方科技大学生物系系主任、致诚书院院长。主持国自然重大、重点等项目。发表SCI文章185篇, 引用19000余次,总影响因子约1875, H指数70。实验室成果在国际骨科研究大会获奖10余次。担任JOT副主编, 担任JBMR及 JBC等国际学术刊物编委,担任70个国际杂志的审稿人。北京大学医学部(原北京医科大学)100周年校庆,优秀校友。
