On the morning of March 25, Chen WU, Director of Nanshan District Health Bureau, led a delegation to visit Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Leaders from Nanshan District Medical Group, Nanshan District People's Hospital, Southern University of Science and Technology Hospital, Qianhai Shekou Free Trade Zone Hospital, Nanshan District Maternal and Child Health Hospital, and Nanshan District Chronic Disease Prevention and Treatment Hospital accompanied the visit. Songling Wang, Dean of the School of Medicine and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with Vice Deans Guozhi XIAO, Wenyong ZHANG, and Jintang DONG, and Ren Hua, Director of the Hospital Management Department, received the visitors and attended the symposium.
At the symposium, Vice dean Xiao introduced the development and medical system construction of the Southern University of Science and Technology School of Medicine, focusing on the school's construction plans and phased goals in areas such as the affiliated hospital system, clinical specialty departments, clinical diagnosis and research centers, joint teaching and research offices, and the Future Medicine Museum.
Director Wu introduced the overall situation of the development of medical and health services in Nanshan District and expressed a strong desire to further deepen cooperation between the district and the university. She suggested that both sides use projects as a starting point to carry out comprehensive and multi-level cooperation in key areas such as clinical teaching, talent training, digital healthcare, and collaborative research.
The participating hospitals, based on their own strengths, exchanged ideas on cooperation in areas such as discipline development, research transfer, teaching bases, public health, and international talent cultivation.
Dean Wang stated that the medical school adheres to a high-starting-point, high-quality development path and maintains an open attitude towards cooperation with regional medical institutions. He emphasized that the school will strictly follow relevant national standards, selectively promote the construction of affiliated hospitals, and is willing to deepen cooperation with the Nanshan District Health and Wellness System and its hospitals to jointly plan project collaborations, build a high-level medical education system, and work together to promote the high-quality development of regional medical and health undertakings.
