SUSTech School of Medicine donates vital medical supplies

      The School of Medicine at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) has worked relentlessly during the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and is now donating critical medical supplies for their brethren at SUSTech Hospital & the SUSTech Office of Epidemic Prevention and Control.

      The School of Medicine Dean Xing Mingzhao and his wife connected with their networks across the globe after the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). With the strong support of the Chinese community in Maryland (USA), a batch of protective clothing was donated and received by the School of Medicine. The medical supplies will go to the SUSTech Hospital and SUSTech, following discussion within the School of Medicine.

       SUSTech Hospital assistant to the president, Wang Lin, received the supplies and thanked the School of Medicine for their ongoing support during this challenging period. These vital supplies would be distributed to the front-line medical staff at the earliest opportunity.

       SUSTech Office of Safety, Health, and Environment deputy director Jiang Xianggui also thanked the School of Medicine on behalf of the Office of Epidemic Prevention and Control. The critical personal protective equipment will go to the staff who are working hard across campus to maintain the health and safety of the SUSTech community.

      The School of Medicine will continue to implement strict controls for the prevention and control of the epidemic while taking the opportunity for academic and scientific research progress. It will make full use of its professional and resource advantages to continue the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and support the healthcare needs of Shenzhen, the Greater Bay Area, and China.
